A place to reconnect, recharge and find your footing.

For more than two centuries, people have come to Stepping Stones Farm to travel, work, rest and gather. Today, we are proud to continue that tradition, welcoming people from all walks of life to share in the peace, beauty and unique spirit of our farm.

Life moves quickly. Between work, responsibilities and the demands of everyday living, finding time to truly connect with others — and with ourselves — can be difficult. Stepping Stones offers the chance to slow down, step away from the noise and make space for what really matters.

Families come together to celebrate life’s milestones.

Friends gather for long-overdue reunions, meaningful conversations and the simple pleasure of spending time together.

Business teams step away from their usual routines to rebuild connections, strengthen relationships and rediscover what it means to work together as people, not just colleagues.

Retreats, both wellness and spiritual, welcome real people dealing with real-life challenges. They offer a little breathing room, a sense of belonging, a fresh perspective, or simply a place where they can be themselves without judgement.

At Stepping Stones, you don’t have to have everything figured out.

Come as you are.

We are pet friendly.

The Lodge

A place to gather for up to 24 guests.

Walking into the Lodge, one often has to stop for a moment and simply look up.

The Great Room opens into a soaring cathedral ceiling, with hand-hewn beams, warm wood interiors, and a massive fieldstone fireplace. It’s a beautiful space, but there’s something more to it than just the way it looks.

You feels it as soon as you walk in - a sense of calm, a feeling of connection. Some simply call it "good energy".

And there’s a reason for that.

The Lodge wasn’t just built; it was created together. Every log was hand-peeled and carefully lifted into place, handled time and again with patience, effort, and care. Even the chandeliers were handcrafted.

You can feel the intention behind it all. This is a place built with vision, heart, and a strong sense of community.

For more than fifty years, the Lodge has welcomed people here to learn, celebrate, heal, and connect.

From the moment you step inside... you will just feel it.

Homestead

Where history lives for up to 16 people

The Homestead is so much more than just a house. It’s a living piece of history.

Thoughtfully and lovingly restored, it blends the charm of another time with modern comforts, including strong Wi-Fi. Its history is woven into every room, with layers of stories that you can still feel all around you.

Step Back in Time...

Your journey into the past begins in the Stage Coach Waiting Room. This is where travellers once paused on their journeys north, waiting while tired horses were unhitched and replaced with fresh teams for the road ahead.

Standing here today, you can almost imagine the travellers coming and going, and there’s a sense that this little room has witnessed some important moments over the years.

From here, the rest of the house unfolds, with more stories waiting to be discovered.

Gathering Space @ The Barn

A Gathering Place Then. A Gathering Place Today.

Built in the early 1800s, the Historic Barn has been part of life at Stepping Stones Farm for more than two centuries.

During its days as a stagecoach stop along the route between Boston and Montreal, weary horses were brought in and exchanged for fresh teams, ready to carry travellers on the next leg of their journey.

Today, the barn's historic post-and-beam construction with handmade pegs and a warm wooden interior tell the story of another time.

Twinkling lights add a welcoming glow, creating a setting that feels both historic and inviting.

The barn continues its long tradition as a gathering place. Whether you are bringing together a business team, hosting a workshop, planning a retreat, or simply looking for a comfortable place to connect, the Historic Barn offers welcoming spaces for groups both large and small.

We had 14 family members in NH for a wedding. Her farmhouse offered us a beautiful spacious place to stay. We loved the house and the property surrounding it. Never did it feel crowded. The horses and chickens were fun to visit and she had many outdoor games to play. We had everything we needed. We’d definitely stay again.

What Our Clients have To say

This was an amazing, wonderful place for a family reunion in a real-deal 1700s farmhouse and former stage coach stop. Our host, Boo, was so attentive and helpful that she seemed like family. She took a genuine interest in our plans and in what we wanted, and recommended people and places in the area for other members of our party. If you want a bleak, cookie-cutter accommodation in a soulless, barren facility that you'll quickly forget, book that unmemorable place now. Otherwise, stay a while among the goats and horses at this farm.

I came with a group of friends for a long weekend. There were enough beds for all of us - super spacious bedrooms and sooo stunning. We all absolutely loved the house and the property. The owner was super responsive and kind. We still had plenty of privacy on the active farm. The farm animals are a joy to see. The pool was lovely. We would stay here again!

This home was perfect for my family for my wife's 40th birthday. Boo, the owner, was so amazing gracious. She welcomed us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the home as well as the grounds. She even came by the following day and let our children ride on their pony and play with the goats and dogs. We even had fresh farm eggs from the chickens which were just a couple steps over at the barn. It was great to allow the children to get a taste of farm living. And the location was prime. Great views around the area and quaint shops locally. It was a very blessed few days we had!

Stepping Stones is a treasure of a home. It’s an authentic colonial era homestead with a lot of amazing history. The grounds and setting are bucolic. Be prepared for normal old home quirks like uneven floors and basic bathrooms. But the plumbing works just fine, the kitchen is well equipped, there are ac’s in all the bedrooms to keep things comfortable on hot nights. The WiFi is great.
Boo is the most welcoming host. 100% would recommend!!!

We recently hosted a successful and delightful day-long retreat at the Lodge for a newly formed team from the Granite State Association, New Hampshire Conference, United Church of Christ. The day included structured time with the horses, which provided invaluable insights into how our new team functions.

The facility and staff were outstanding. truly priceless.

What Our Clients have To say

"We’ve had the privilege of experiencing Stepping Stones Farm & Retreat Center and Wisdom Horse both as a staff team-building group and with our Children’s Resiliency Retreat youth. Each time, we’ve been struck by the peace, intentionality, and genuine care that go into everything they do. It’s clear how deeply the team cares about this work, and their ability to create a safe, calming environment where youth as young as ages 6–17 can simply be present and connect is truly special. I’ve rarely seen our group so collectively peaceful as I did during our time at the farm."
